Okay i"m stuck whats the real difference between taking "JUDO" or "Brazilian Jujitsu"?

I want to take one i prefer more throwing that way i can supplement more striking in later |||Judo is a japanese derivitive of jujitsu. It was developed in the late 1800s as a martial art, a sport, and a popular fitness routine. Judo focuses mostly on moving your opponent off balance then throwing forcefully to the ground. There is also alot of ground techniques focusing on locks, chokes, and other submission techniques.





In the Early part of the 1900 a Brazillian Official named Gracie worked with a Japanese Dignitary. The Japanese guy taught Gracie%26#039;s son Judo. One of the sons, Helio Gracie, smaller and weaker than his brothers, worked on refining his technique to utilize more leverage and ground work to neutralize a larger competitors advantages. This is where BJJ comes from.|||Judo%26#039;s emphasis is on throwing; in fact a match may end with a single %26quot;clean%26quot; throw. BJJ is almost exclusively ground fighting. Judo also includes some pins, chokes, and armlocks, but they definitely take a back seat to throws in most classes.|||Judo is a grappling martial art. It has alot of throws, ground and standing techniques.





Brazilian jiujitsu comes from kodokan judo, it emphasizes more in the ground aspect of the game.





If you prefer throwing, then Judo is for you.|||Judo, is basically a throwing martial art. They do have some ground work and submissions, but there are tons of throws in Judo. BJJ is ground fighting, working submissions, gaining dominant positions. |||Judo is more throwing and technique while Jujitsu is more taking straight down and smaller joint locks. if you want to learn throwing and later learn striking, Judo is your thing.|||jujitsu if you want to learn how to wrestle
