In the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. How did "Master Splinter" learn jujitsu? How'd he get so smart?

I know, it%26#039;s sort of riduculous to ask this but my son watches them and I want to be more involved in his TV viewing.|||Splinter was the pet of a man who was a master of the martial arts. From his cage, he watched his owner practice every day. But his owner was hunted by a secret society of assassins, and when he was killed by them and Splinter%26#039;s cage was broken and the rat fled into the sewer, he was eventaully mutated by the same radioactive glop that splashed in the eyes of the young man who tackled the elderly guy out of the way of the truck (in the origin story). Splinter became smarter than the average rat, and remembered everything he had seen his master do about martial arts. He taught the Turtles when he found them, so that they could pursue the vengeance he wanted against those who killed his owner.|||It%26#039;s a cartoon. That%26#039;s the kinda thing that happens in cartoons. You just don%26#039;t know.|||From the ooze they were crawling in and from watching his master|||he is old and learned jujitsu from his master in a class together with shredder.. shredder was a meanie that stuck a knife in splinter%26#039;s cloak into the wall and so splinter couldnt bow so he got in trouble ... something like that|||Haha cute question. I wish I could tell you|||haha that%26#039;s kool i guess~ well the rat got all the power i think(i%26#039;m not sure) because he%26#039;s just amart like that and learned all of it by watchin%26#039; someone? so sorry but i%26#039;m not sure~|||TURTLES DON%26#039;T KNOW KARATE!|||he use to be a small rat in a lab and saw some person doing it so he learn it that way|||In the original cartoon series he was actually a person who had been transformed into the rat by the mutogen. In the movies he was a pet rat who had watched and mimicked his master before being transformed by the mutogen.|||If I remember correctly, Splinter was in a cage and he was imitating this guy practicing jujitsu (presumebly his owner). I think Splinter was a pet of a Jujitsu master or something. Sorry, it%26#039;s been many moons since I last saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-- My baby brother in now 30 years old. LOL|||watch the first movie a little after they kidnapp splinter he is explaining to the kid about what happend and then how he learned to fight
