Is mui thai and Brazilian jujitsu a good combination?

for competition fighting

If you have any other ideas for good strikeing and grappeling combinations please post!|||its very good most people in mma have a combination of the following:

striking:

boxing,muay thai, maybe kenpo

grappling:

judo, wrestling, brazilian jujitsu, sambo|||okay..

my take..

it%26#039;s a good combo for mma competition... however...

most mma fighters take muay thai and in competition abandon the kicks, which if you watch pride fights and ufc fights with the likes of maurice smith, you%26#039;ll notice that muay thai%26#039;s low line kick is extremely effective.. sadly it tends to be forgotten by most competitors in the cage.. oh yeah, the focus on the clench and throw elbows and knees.. but....

we try to teach a combo of boxing, dirty boxing, muay thai kicking and clench, takedowns and sprawling, submissions grappling and ground n pound..

muay thai and bjj is a great combo.. just get comfortable enough on your feet and confident enough in your ground defense to not worry about being taken down when you use your muay thai!

~*good luck*~|||WWE has Jimmy Wang Yang hes from Asia I think....|||Wel theres lots of stuff you can choose from, for ground fighting there is also Catch wrestling, Sambo and Judo for standup you can do kickboxing, or even boxing if you dont want to kick, anything that resembles MMA basically will help|||For competition fighting, I%26#039;d say yes. It%26#039;s been proven as a useful combination in Pride, the UFC%26#039;s, etc.

I think Sanshou (also spelled San Soo) is fantastic for competition fights too, just check out some of Cung Le vids on http://www.youtube.com :

Here%26#039;s a few for a taste for a taste -

(This one is more of an instructional vid, but there are a few nuggets that could be useful for you).|||yes|||yes this is an awesome combo. One of the best combos in MMA. No doubt about it. Maui Thai is better then your basic kick-boxing. More technical and athletic of a skill. And what can you say about Brazilian Jujitsu. It is a deadly art of skill and strength. Most winners in MMA have these two skills that take them a long way in the business. It%26#039;s later they add more to their accolades. To be more well rounded.|||yes it is. both are proven in MMA competition and generally the schools that teach them have good competitive outlets for you to be more easily recognized if your goal is to become a pro mma fighter.

However, you can substitute any striking art that trains hard for MT and any grappling art that trains realistically for bjj.|||I would say so, but I would also try out boxing or kickboxing too.

Muay thai is good because it uses elbows.|||TKD and Hopkido is a good Korean combination.
